Appointments are made through our receptionist, who will make a sincere attempt, within our ability, to meet the your scheduling needs.  In each instance we endeavor to plan our schedule to minimize any waiting time.  We make every effort accommodate patient emergencies, generally attending to a patient of record within 36 hours. Our office phone number is 578-3810. Dr. Hopper's home phone number is 920-0428. Please leave a message if we are not in. We appreciate 24 hours notice of any changes in scheduled appointments.

Costs and Payment

Payment is expected on balances under $200.00 at the time services are performed. Accordingly, patients are encouraged to discuss the cost options of treatment at any time prior to or during their visit. On balances over $200.00 a number of financing alternatives are available with approved credit. We also accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and Care Credit.

Dental Insurance

Dental insurance is intended to cover some, but not all, of the cost of your treatment. Most plans include coinsurance, a deductible and other expenses which must be paid by the patient. The portion not paid by your insurance company will be figured at your appointment and will be your responsibility. We request payment at the time of service, unless suitable payment arrangements have been made prior to your visit.

We are preferred providers with Delta Dental of South Dakota. We also accept and file insurance with many other plans.

It is important to keep in mind that dental insurance is generally designed to pay for a portion of basic services. Insurance benefits typically won't cover optimum dental care, and dental plans rarely cover 100% of any dental fee.

While the cost of treatment options vary, our committment to the quality of care in any selected option does not.  We are committed to ensuring the best outcome possible under the treatment option selected.  At the same time, it is important to note that the least expensive treatment may not be the most durable, beneficial treatment choice over time. In many instances, advanced options, which often utilize higher quality materials, will last longer and offer better appearance and improved performance.

In any event, if you have dental coverage we encourage to check your policy carefully.  If you do not understand a reimbursement level on your bill, you may wish to contact your insurance provider. Under a UCR plan, patients are usually allowed to see the dentist of their choice. These plans pay an established percentage of the dentist fee or pay the plan sponsors "customary" or "reasonable" fee limit, whichever is less. Although we make every attempt to work with a variety of plans, over the years we have encountered some that  do not adequately reflect the fees that area dentists charge.

Infection Control

Avoiding infection and the spread of disease play a major role in the procedures we employ at Deadwood Dental.  We are in continual compliance with present infection control standards and fully implement new recommendations as they become available.
